Note for Anna

I wrote a simple note for Anna's lunchbox today - just an effort to encourage her and express my love to her. She read and re-read it, and every time she gets teary-eyed. Under all that bounce and energy is a sensitive, deeply feeling heart that soaks up that encouragement. I pray that I will give it more!

  1. I did that once for Truth and she loved it so much and asked me to read it to her over and over again. She kept it in her nighttable drawer forever.

I wrote one to Judah recently and left it on his dresser, so he had to see it when he opened his drawer to get dressed. He let it fall on the floor and got out his clothes for the day. Whan I went to see if he read it and saw it on the floor, I picked it up and asked him what it was. He just shrugged and said he didn't know. So I opened it and read it to him. He wasn't too impressed, but he still has it. I guess boys and girls are just different like that.

Way to go Julie. You're a terrific mom!

  2. Ann, thank you so much for the encouragement! :) It is funny how different they can be! I'm curious to see how they unfold as they sprout up! :)

  3. I didn't know that you had a blog. I have loved looking through it and seeing what all is going on in the Pate household. Oh, Ben and I went to a Paul David Trip marriage conference, too, that was held at our church. Yes, we finally have found a church that we love and can you believe that the name of it is Bethel!!
